Risk and Fraud Protection

What is PCI compliance?

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a proprietary information security standard for organisations that handle branded credit cards from the major card brands including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and JCB.

If you are a merchant of any size accepting credit cards, you must be in compliance with PCI Security Council standards.

More about these rules and regulations can be found under this link.

Do I have to be PCI complaint?

SecurionPay takes the entire PCI burden out of your head thanks to using TOKEN technology, which always keeps your end-user data safe. When you work with SecurionPay, the users’ card data does not even reach your servers.

However, if you do collect users’ card information or plan to do so you need to become PCI compliant. Depending on how much volume your store processes, you can chose a PCI compliance level from 1-3, where level 1 is the highest one.

Where can I find the PCI questionnaire?

SecurionPay can provide you with a self-assessment questionnaire, which must be filled out and sent back to us. We will then provide it to the bank as one of the required documents.

What kind of security tools and measurements does SecurionPay provide?

SecurionPay always keeps its partners safe and provides tools to significantly limit the danger coming from online fraudulent activities.

We actively fight fraud. SecurionPay precisely defines which transaction is fraudulent and takes actions to eliminate the threat. Thanks to the information coming directly from the Card Schemes we are able defend you in a very efficient way.

Additionally, SecurionPay provides you with suggestions on suspicious transactions, giving you the power to act upon it and decide whether certain actions are required.

Can SecurionPay protect me from fraud and prevent chargebacks?

This is exactly what we specialise in. But we leave the final decision to our partners to choose the level of SecurionPay involvement in active transaction and chargeback management. We believe that interference from our side should be well balanced and adjusted to the partner’s expectations and the level of probable fraudulent activates coming to the particular website.

What is Adjustable Fraud Prevention Guard?

Every payment made with SecurionPay is being checked against fraud. Merchants are allowed to configure automatic refunds of payments marked as fraudulent before chargeback procedure is initiated.

I processed a refund and a chargeback on the same transaction. What do I do?

You just let us know and we will take care of that directly with the appropriate bank. The difference will be transferred to you.

How can I dispute a chargeback?

So-called chargeback re-presentments have been significantly automated by us as one of the tools to fight illegitimate returns. In case such a dispute is settled in your favour, the funds will be returned to your bank account.

Friendly fraud – what is that?

Friendly fraud occurs when a consumer makes an online shopping purchase with their own credit card, and then requests a chargeback from the issuing bank after receiving the purchased goods or services. It is followed by his claim that he was not the purchase initiator or someone else had used his card.

If I use a 3D Secure set up what are the consequences?

3D Secure is an additional security layer and a way to authenticate online transactions. So, it helps you reduce the number of chargebacks and fraud attempts, and builds your company’s credibility as well.

Can the 3D Secure be turned off?

It’s up to you whether 3D Secure will be used on your website or not.
